Dux Bellorum Project part 2

Well it's been about a month since my introductory Dux Bellorum project post and I've been busy cleaning up and building.

All the figures and movement trays are now ready for the next stage; this will involve adding more structure to the bases and getting the figures in place.

All the warriors to be used as Nobles, normal warriors and the retinue for my leader

Battlegroup Kursk - Middle of the Action Report

Here we are midway through a 500 (ish) point game between Lordybloke's Soviets, veterans of over a dozen battles and Ellioto's Panzergrenadiers in there second only battle.
Bottom left sees the Soviet entry onto the battlefield, the Soviet commander skulking in his Gaz Jeep hoping that the artillery will leave him be.  A diminished soviet tank rider squad is pinned by their objective.  The German Panzer Ace 'Double Top' in the Stug III arrives in the corner top right and blasts away with no effect.

Daemonnettes Done

Another bath of models done and dusted, this time 22 Daemonnettes including 2 heralds, converted from the old 'Dechla the Denied' model.

I've had these for a while, and painting them was not what you would call enjoyable, but they had to be done.
It breaks the back of the remaining Slaaneshi models I have, with just 6 Fiends and a Greater Daemon left to do later in the year

Next on the paint station will be some Irish for Dux Bellorum; they aren't even built yet, but check back next week for part 2 of my project update

Afghan Compound - Work in Progress

I've added a layer of paint to which I added some PVA and some sand.  I will put on a brown wash when I have a moment.  While I am waiting I will do some work on some doors.  More pictures when I have done some  more.

Afghan Compound

Binx and had our first game of Skirmish Sangin last week.  I had some modern troopers and Binx had some world war 2 Germans.  We fought over some Normandy houses.

As a game it was great and very lethal.  As a spectacle it was weak.  Not as weak as Cortez suggesting up turned rhinos could be drop pods but then again what is :o)

So Binx ordered some Taliban from Empress, I have everything in the recent Empress Kickstarter to choose from when it arrives any day now.  So we will be sorted for figures next game.

So I started some terrain.  I saw a post on 15mm terrain and eventually it lead me to another blog; so I used it as inspiration and came up with this.

Still some bits and pieces to do and of course paint but it's a good start.  I will post again once complete.
