Last week we saw a tweet from @vidpui who mentioned a £5 challenge he had taken part in, where by he bought some model bits for under £5 and had built/converted what he had acquired, and resold them on eBay for a profit of £26.85.
Then we heard about @PaintedbyG who had bought the Space Wolf librarian Njal Stormcaller off eBay as part of another £5 challenge and had then sold it for £177.50!
@PaintedbyG's big profit miniature |
- Model must be purchased off eBay for £5.00 or less (not including P&P)
- After painting/converting the model, it must be back on eBay by the 23rd November with a one week sale, to end on the 30th November.
- The club member who makes the most profit (not including P&P) will be the winner.
Once the contest is over we intend to pool all our profits and depending on how much it is, either go out for a meal, or buy a bag of chips for a Wednesday games night.
So with these rules in mind, here is what we have bought in order to make some cash.
Chris:
I scoured eBay for something I fancied painting, and even though I already have two of these models unpainted somewhere in my many bits boxes, went for the Chaos Lord from the Dark Vengeance box set.
Frazer:
Frazer also plumped for a model he already owns, this time an out of production Space Wolf Long Fang sergeant.
Matt:
Matt bounced around eBay with many options to choose from, and eventually went for this limited edition Space Marine Captain
Neil:
Another model from the Dark Vengeance box set for Neil. Well actually he managed to pick up two, we'll see what one he goes for later.
Simon:
Another Chaos Space Marine for Simon. This one has already had one attempt at being painted, so hopefully there wont be any loss of detail to contend with.
Elliot:
Elliot has bucked the trend of power armoured models and gone for a plastic Ork Warboss
Next Door Matt:
And last but not least is Matt who has plumped for another model from the Dark Vengeance box.
Mine will be librarian so I don't clash with ndm!
