In other random project news: Imperial guard!

The new codex is upon us and with it a whole host of new (and improved!) stuff.

Its this new stuff that has most interested me.

First up: psyker battle squad. I like them a lot but there's no great psyker models out there so what to do?

Make your own of course! Looking at the guard codex cover I spotted a bunch of black robed dudes (see them?? Right in the middle there) with skulls looking pretty cool. Not sure if they're supposed to be psykers but that's the look I'm going for.

Starting with the good old Empire Flagellants and adding various wires and greenstuff so far I have the following.

Lots more to do on them and a lot more of them to do!

Next up,

VERY wip and held together by blu tac at the moment but I think you get the idea....

Had planned on using the old chimera chassis as some terrain at some point but then inspiration struck!

If anyone has anything or ideas for the large targeting sensor that sits at the front of the turret, let me know. Current ideas are a bead or button, if I had one!

Slow March to War!

I've not posted much for a while. Partly due to lack of time and partly due to losing all focus and trying to finish off umpteen (that IS a number!) projects.
War of the Ring has been one such project. My aim to get 1000 pts of good and bad guys ready for a game is going slowly but with a fairly busy gaming calendar that's not a bad thing!
I'll get there before the end of the year!

In the meantime I have managed to get a chunk of Rohan forces done as the (dark) picture below shows!




I've now had a few issues with varnish on the horses (grrr!) and have also done a load of wargs for Isengard (drying) so I'm getting somewhere....

Done a few more Lizards, his time half a dozen chameleon skinks.
Not very exciting photo and not very exciting models really.
I don't get how strapping a number of frogs to your body makes you blend in with the bushes!!

Just over 2 months til the big game and a still a few more bits and bobs to do.

With 3 weeks until the Blood Bowl at GW HQ I have finally completed my new Human team which will hopefully aid me as well as the Stirland Blitz did last year.

Apparently there's a new Imperial Guard Codex out but it seems as if the local post man is a keen collector, therefore mine hasn't arrived yet.

Anyway, I already have a good size force of foot sloggers and from all the previews online and in White Dwarf, I've seen a few additions I'd like to add to my army.

Some I'll have to buy (it also seems my postie needs some Sentinels for his force too) but some I'm going to build from the large amount of unused Cadian plastics I've have had for what seems like years ( actually since last time the Guard Codex was redone!!)

So below you will see my Master of the Ordnance, a combination of normal and heavy weapons plastics

Bring Order to Chaos

Specifically the Chaos Marine Army that i have. It's about 10+ years old and whilst lovely to look at is horribly out of date.

The challenge is to use as many figures and the existing modelled equipment to create a new, fresh and vibrant chaos army.

Additional figures, painting and conversion will be undertaken where necessary.
