Mangled Putty

Mangler squigs - brilliant in the game, massively overpriced in the shop!
Solution - build your own!

These are very wip at the moment as the impetus has gone a little bit since the WFB campaign ended abruptly and the Empire book (amongst other systems) distracted me.

I'll get back to them at some point though!

Wire frame covered with clay and then used green and grey stuff for the face. They will have scales/spikes etc running down their back when they're finished along with various gobbos and snotties hanging off them, early days!

Stationnnn!!!!

In honour of a rare comment from Big Papa (where've you been?!) on Binx' paint station I thought I would post a shot of my paint desk to show we're not all that tidy!

It really does need a tidy up!! I just don't get the time......

More Cheese!

Thought I'd throw another quick update as its been pretty quiet on the Blog!
Bit more of the features done.
The idea is one side is "normal" whilst the other is much more mutated (hence the shoulder spikes!) as it has a large piece of warpstone where the eye should be.
Photo of that side another time!
I've also started adding "fur" to the hind quarters.
Slow going but happy enough so far!

CHEEEEESEEEEEE!!!

Work continues.....slowly!
The rest of the features is the next step, which will also help temper the joker style smile a bit!

I'll put it simple: if you're going hard enough left, you'll find yourself turning right

I've been going about it all wrong, for years as I start using an army; Imperial Guard for example, I start adding additional units, building, converting and painting them.  Then about half way through the project we change games and I start changing my plans, leaving projects half done.

As the title suggests something unexpected is needed, so when I'm just about to receive my Space Wolf Codex and additional units, I'm going to start painting Dark Elves ready for when WHFB starts.

I am a Genius!  Ok maybe not but I'll let you know how it works out

I stole this article from Bols. It’s thought provoking.

2000 pts - Up to 8 scoring - Kp - 15

I think the list is strong versus Imperial Guard and horde armies, without having to rely on your TH/SS terminators to do all your nasty business.

Obviously the thought is to close quickly, teleport your guys up there, and then start wading through infantry with your hammers of doom. I picked null zone to help deal with Daemons and other TH/SS terminators. It might be worth it to run both librarians with the same psychic power set up just to help with some redundancy. The other parts of the army are designed to hold objectives and dish out boatloads of wounds to thin out large attack mob based armies, which can pull the TH/SS terminators down under the weight of multiple armour saves.

Again I did not come up with the initial idea of this list; I just had it shove its hammers down my throat one game at the weekend tournament. I thought it had some merit, and with a few small tweaks it should shore up any issues with its ability to cover the horde, as well as give most armies fits as they try to deal with the TH/SS terminators. For those needing a smaller point total, drop the one tact squad and predator

One down Two to Go!

This is my first attempt at a really big piece - scenery doesn't count because it's easy - and it's a a testimony to how good the spray gun and how useful the Forgeworld Masterclass book are. I would never have attempted this with just a brush. Those that have seen them will know that most of my Marauder vehicles are at best below average.

A battlefield will be rumbling with REALLY heavy armour soon.

I'm off to wait by the door for the postman to bring my next big box of plastic

Can you guess what it is yet?

Slugging it Out

Halfway through the campaign and the Grey Knights have tipped the balance and broken the deadlock. However this week their task was beyond them and the stormtroopers were 'punished' by the Imperial Guard.
