Big Hut Battle 2026

Over the years we've tried to get big games in where we can, life logistics just gets in the way.

But! We managed to get together to play some warhammer Old World.

For the scenario we picked the Battle of Nan-Li from the 2nd Cathay related journal and modified it slightly for a bigger table.
This has three objectives on the centre line and the closest core unit to the objective controls it, scoring victory points at the end of each players turn.

For the forces we had the glorious Empire of Talabecland allied to the Cathay defenders vs a large force of chaos warriors, knights and several beasts.

The glorious EMPIRE and Cathay, ready to meet the chaos foe.

(The giant? Oh he's a cathayan sentinel, of course!)

From the chaos forces moved aggressively forward and captured the objectives uncontested, racking up the VPs whilst the defenders held back and pelted them with missiles and artillery (that wasn't being as effective as hoped!).

Below are start of turn pics that show the movement of each turn.

In the end we ran out of time to finish the game completely!
Despite the late surge from the defenders infantry and the chaos forces dwindling by turn 4 the early scoring had been enough for them to have a healthy lead, added to the bonus score of taking out the sentinel the glorious defenders had left it too late.
Chaos take the day ...

Until next time.....
