Hobby Round up Week 19

Well what a busy week, General Election, VE Day commemorations and Neil got a new job.

Meanwhile in the world of Lone Wolves hobby....

After completing some figures for Dave last week, Frazer has returned to painting for himself, and this week produced some shock markers for Chain of Command.

Neil has been working on some Dwarves to be used in an upcoming Morheim campaign. Made up of Avatars of War figures, the two figures at the front of the picture were inspired by our long lost member Tom.

Hot on the heels of Simon and Chris's first go at Guild Ball, Simon has cracked on with painting his team, with the first two completed figures and a ball below.

Chris has mainly been building figures, firstly the limited edition show model of the Fishermen's Kraken, a plethora of civilians for Dead Mans Hand, and finally, a finished goal for his Mortician Guild Ball team

Hobby Round up 2015 week 5

It's February already! Lets see what we've been doing during the last days of January.

Frazer finished this Churchill and Cromwell last week, just missing the week 4 post.

Big Papa Jon has continued to prepare some Goblins for our future Mordheim campaign.

Chris is continuing to build Night Goblins, and paint Dark Eldar Scourges.

And finally, Neil has been testing some paint schemes for his Napoleonics

Wednesday War - Mordheim & 40k

This Wednesday we had two games on the go, ND Matt and Neil played 40k, whilst Chris and Simon returned to a classic and had a game of Mordheim.

The table was set up, using all the ruined buildings that Simon had built and Neil had painted. Simon has a few more to finish off, and a massive wizards tower which we can add to the next game.

We had two games, in the first Chris's Sisters of Sigmar had to breakthrough Simons Skaven. In this picture the Sisters take cover behind a wall as the rat men watch them from a nearby building.

Simon's Skaven occupy the high ground, but when going for a diving charge, fluffed the initiative test and broke his neck.

Game two was a traditional skirmish, with a dust up happening in the grave yard. The Skaven were again beaten, mainly down to the worst dice rolling known to man by Simon!

Despite a horrific night of bad dice for one of us, we both agreed it was great to get Mordheim going again and even convinced Elliot to look into a gang for a campaign we'll run some time next year.

On the other table ND Matt borrowed Neil's Imperial Guard, to take on Neil and his Eldar. So engrossed I didn't manage to get many pictures, well only one!
The game ended in a win for Neil with the Imperial Guard seemingly spending more time wandering around the board, than actually engaging the Eldar in combat...

Oi, Packet Inn

I have completed another of the Cortez built Mordheim buildings.
This one being the White Wolf Inn.

I tarted it up by adding a flagstone floor and some cobbles outside using filler.

The paint job could have plenty more detail added but it will do for now. Better to get all the buildings painted and see how it goes from there!
I believe Cortez has some barrels and "stuff" to add a bit more flavour
