Hobby Round up Week 37

Hey everyone, we're back!

After a quiet week with nothing to report, and some illness, its time to post some more hobby updates

Elliot has began work on some Nurgle Blightkings, I'm sure he'll see sense and put them on round bases soon enough.

Frazer has continued work on some Malifaux Ten Thunders for Dave, going for a vibrant yellow and blue scheme

And finally for this week, Big Papa has been beavering his way through his 15mm Guildball project.
The Fishermen are progressing nicely and the Butchers have just been started. They also have a pitch ready to play on once they are finished.

Hobby Round up Week 31

Welcome to another Hobby Round up, this week we feature a number of completed projects*.

Simon has added his seventh player to his Masons Guild Ball team, and they are now all ready to hit the pitch. Just a goal to create, but an idea still escapes him.

Elliot has finished his Malifaux collection, complete with teddy, baby and a couple of ladies of the night.

Elliot has also finally got his Alchemist Guild Ball team under way with the first three models almost finished.

Chris is another Lone Wolf who has finished a project, with the completion of his Ten Thunders crew for Malifaux.

And finally for this week, another weird and wonderful creation from Big Papa. This time an in progress shot of his interpretation of Robert Baratheon from Game of Thrones, he intends to use in Warheads.

* of course in the world of tabletop gaming, a project is never really completed

Big Papa continues to work in mysterious ways, first up is a 15mm foot knight, perfect of tiny games of Warhammer or Frostgrave if you are short of table space.

Big Papa has also finished his first Age of Sigmar figure, a how to guide on painting the stonework will be on the blog Tuesday.

Finally for this week some more Malifaux figures from Chris, this time three Archers

Hobby Round up Week 29

Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! Another week has gone by and so time for another Hobby Update.

Frazer has been busy preparing himself for Fighting Season, and has just finished his Australian/New Zealand platoon.

Not one to rest on his laurels he has dived feet first into some more moderns.

Big Papa said he wouldn't get dragged into Age of Sigmar, but low and behold he couldn't escape the grasp of Games Workshop.
Settling on some Sigmarites, he is going for a stone effect on the armour of his new army; below is a work in progress test piece.

And finally for this week, Chris has continued work on his Malifaux figures, this time three Samurai, resplendent in gold armour; looks like the Sigmarites influence is appearing everywhere.

Hobby Round up Week 22

Its the end of Half Term and time for some more hobby updates.

Its been a while since we saw an update from Big Papa, and he has been very busy. Our first two pictures are of two "chibi" miniatures from his Warheads collection.

Inspired by these figures, Big Papa has done what only he can do, and has sculpted his own "chibi" style figure, but this time in 15mm. He hopes to cast a few of these up in the near future and get the club to have a go at painting them.

Finally from Big Papa a Black Tree Design dwarf, that may soon appear on their website; another great bit of work.

Simon has followed Chris and Elliot into the wonderful world of Malifaux, and has begun sticking together his crew. Three models down, plenty more to go no doubt.

Chris has continued to work on his Guild Ball Morticians, with one more figure almost done. Just the massive cloak of feathers to go!

Hobby Round up week 8

Welcome to week 8 of our hobby round up, after a quiet few weeks, this update is full of new and completed projects.

First up this week is Chris who has been on a bit of a construction frenzy. Dave has invested in Dropzone Commander and passed his figures to Chris and Frazer to paint.

Chris has been given the Post-Human Republic, and below are the content of the starter army box, all built and magnetised ready for spraying.

After building 80 plastic Night Goblins, Chris has been constructing the rest of this greenskins, with some Clubbers and Netters and a bakers dozen of Spider Riders

And finally, with Chris and Elliot's inaugural game of Malifaux scheduled for this Wednesday, Chris has constructed his crew of Ten Thunders.

Next up is Frazer; he has been also working on multiple projects. Fist up are some WW2 tanks for Dave, who is representing New Zealand in the coming months.
The tank on the left has been stripped with Biostrip before being painted to match the one on the right. Just the decals to do.

Frazer has also returned to his Dark Elves, here are a small percentage of his collection of Witch Elves. With another Bolt Thrower won on eBay, will we be seeing these guys back in the hut soon?

Next up is Simon who has been working on two different Space Marine chapters. Firstly some Space Wolf Long Fangs.

And some Crimson Fist close combat Terminators.

Simon is another member of the club doing work for Dave, this time is some SMG wielding Brits, a mortar spotter and forward observer.

Finally, a cryptic offering from Neil, what will sit on this base is a mystery, with nothing to scale it against it could be anything. Put your guesses in the comments and we'll see who is closest next week.
