Kraken Host - Done!

Well it's been a while coming but my Dark Elf army is finished. It started with the Tale of X gamers (also on the blog) and the 1000 point challenge has continued as I got to grips with a gold medal winning bent army.

What I mean by finished is that I have the 2000 point army I set out to build plus a little bit more just to keep eveyone uncertain about what will be on the field of battle each week.  I will continue to add some units; I have just ordred some Daemonettes and some Gargoyles to build some Harpies for example but as my main focus of building, converting and painting it is finished.

What next?  Chaos warband of course, you're not a proper gamer without dabbling with the infernal powers

Yes Miss

Well she was finished last night but slips into March's posts. The final vampire for my army. I said I would get my Wight King done too for this months quota but it hasnt made it in time. It is built and sprayed but not painted.

Im now going to concentrate for the next few months on my Dwarf Blood Bowl team for the Grand Tourniment and the Fortress of Redemption in time for the start of my 40k campaign.

Had a spare hour or so, finished another vampire...

2 Vamps down 2 more and a Wight King to go.

These 2 Vamps are the more exciting out of the miniatures I have to paint this month. Still deciding on what model to use as a Wight King, might still be the Green Knight with some conversion.

Done with a week to spare, 6 bats for my Vampire Counts.
Not a particualry exciting unit to look at, paint or photograph but they are done.

Not sure what I'm going to do next month yet, probably be 4 Vampires, a Wight King and flock all the bases of my entire, what will be complete Vampire army

Three of a Kind

Part one of my 'Son of a Tale of.....' entry for this month is 3 Obliterators for my Chaos marine army.
In the last 2 months i've added some despretly needed heavy fire power to my force in preparation for my 40k campaign scheduled for later this year

6 Vampire Bats to do now, then onto some test miniatures for future projects.....

Well here we are again, last minute but not last.  Painted on Sunday, based on Monday, fleeing off the board on Wednesday.

Just in the nick of time, another month another deadline hit

This time 10 Daemonettes to add to my Chaos Marine force, would have loved to get all 20 done but time was not on my side

 Next month I am going to finish my painting competition entry, paint Luggage from the Discworld series and maybe do a Rhino for my Possessed.

End of another month and I present my "Son of..." quota: 10 Space Hulk stealers.

Got into a bit of a rhythm with them so next month I'm going to paint the rest of the stealers along with the Brood Lord!!

Now to just sit back and watch the winnings roll in!!

Shady War Ears

Son of Tale of...... month 1 comes to close today and after a frantic bit of painting my shadow warriors are done!
Binx crossed the line about a week ago so we're just waiting for entries from Zed and Cortez that makes it a possible £2 in my and Binx pockets if they fail.
As a minor note any winnings I get from this I'll be buying lottery tickets so If I win I can say "thanks for the £5 million, lads"!


Next month my pledge for Son of... is 10 space hulk genestealers. Need to get them done and out the way!

Marvelous

Not only does this complete my painting for this months 'Son of a Tale of X gamers' but also finally gives Jonno his Marneus.

Finally finished, just in time for the Ultramarines to have someone to lead them into battle as the Marines get their 2nd turn in the Apocolypse game we're currently running.

And no I don't know why Marneus has a blue background and the others are darker and have a pinky one...

Son of Tale of X Painters

Howdy!
Following our recent discussion about needing more focus on painting like the good old days with "Tale of X Painters" I present the official posting for :

"Son of Tale of X Painters"

It goes like this:

• Each month you decide if you are in or out
• If you're in you pledge what you will paint and get a photo of on the Blog by the end of the month
• If you fail to do so you will pay (sportsman's) £1 to all those that have completed their pledge
• What you paint is up to you and can be from any game system.
• Ideally all pledges should be of roughly equal scope. If someones pledge doesn't measure up those that are "in" can vote that it won't count!
• No dropping out half way through a month, it'll still cost ya!
• October will be the first month for "Son of........"

So I'll get the ball rolling with my October pledge !

12 High Elf shadow warriors. Now I have to admit they are partly started but they've been hanging around my painting table since "Tale of..." ended but I'm fed up with looking at them so they need to be finished and it'll be a nice gentle start to proceedings!
